Pediatric Professional Development
Children are not just little adults, and we know that the earlier the intervention, the more favorable the outcomes over time. Pediatric research is ever expanding across neuroscience, psychology, and general development. Geriatric Professional Development
Currently, Alzheimer’s disease afflicts 5.8 million Americans over the age of 65, and this number is expected to reach 13.5 million by 2050. It is the most common dementia in older adults. These numbers are staggering, and only reflect one of many reasons an older adult may be referred for our services. The Geriatric Professional Development (GPD) group meets monthly to discuss a journal article, book chapter, or other relevant recent publication pertaining to older adults. The well-known adage “the more I learn, the less I know,” really resonates for me, and it motivates me to try and keep up with emerging publications across various topics. As someone who has never taken a business course, I am always seeking out the latest book, the most recent podcast, or a fresh new article that will help me keep my practice not just relevant, but thriving.
